The Well Wishers - A Shattering Sky ( New CD)

The official release date of "A Shattering Sky" is
September 30, 2014

After six albums and a 5-song EP released over a scant 11 years, Well Wishers frontman and brainchild Jeff Shelton (ex-Spinning Jennies) shows no signs of winding down. "A Shattering Sky", the Well Wishers 7th full-length studio album, is Shelton's most ambitious and full-bodied production to date. Employing the dynamic drumming talents of former bandmates Nick Laquintano and Braden McGraw, the album draws heavily on the sharp power pop acumen of previous Well Wishers albums while furthering the mantle with tighter arrangements, broader instrumentation, and cleaner production. While bold and bright guitars, lush melodies, and undeniable hooks are always at the forefront of Shelton's tried and true pop formula, there are nods to other stops on the musical spectrum... from the country-tinged "Right Here at Last" (featuring guitar from fellow Bay Area cohort Bradley Skaught of Bye Bye Blackbirds), to the bouncy Britpop of "Bring It Back", to the swirling, brash psychedelia of closer "Father Nature". Never one to shy away from a reverential cover, Shelton also includes a lock-step cover of the Tom Petty song "When The Time Comes".
