Here's the note written by David A.Burdick about his career
"most of these tunes are from live shows....demo's,cassettes and vinyl only releases from way back about 20+ years ago or more...........most have never ever been released anywhere in any form..( except for some "hyped to death" cd's )........some were released on cassette or vinyl...but only locally in either tulsa oklahoma.....or dallas texas......the two places i've mainly lived..........i've included some tunes by my friends...and fellow musicians i've worked with......some songs i am not on at all.......but they are by people i have been in bands with or have played with at one time or another and i consider them to be power pop classics...( and as such need to be heard once again )...even though never heard before by anyone outside of a few..........enjoy !!!!!"
"hey guys ..i hope you dig these ultra rare obscure power pop gems from my friends and bands....i know the files are huge but there are some real gems there for you..( and you won't find these anywhere else on the planet period !!!)( you won't believe "the jacks" and the "trey garitty" stuff )...i come here because this is THE place for power pop...and you guys ..of all the places on the internet ..really got your shit together...been lurking here for a while and have discovered great new power pop from the likes of "the mad"..."the toms" amd "the telepathic butterflies".......i really appreciate the recognition i've gotten here for my work.......and this is my legacy to you for that...........merry christmas............for some unknow reason tulsa oklahoma has been a touchstone in power pop......i have no idea why.....i hope i have somehow added to that legacy to some degree........i miss phil seymore...and if things had been different i might have been in a new band with him......tulsa and to a smaller part dallas.....has many unnoticed power pop greats.....and the ones i've been associated with are included in these songs.......anyway thanks for the recognition....and keep on rockin......."

Unfortunately, for the life of me I can't open these files. I have a mac - can anyone help?
I'm also having some trouble and am using a Mac. All I get is an endless loop and the archive never opens. Haven't been able to find a solution that works yet.
Here's how to unpack the files on a Mac.
Open a terminal (it's in Applications/Utilities) and type the following commands
cat david_a_burdick...a_musical_history.z01 david_a_burdick...a_musical_history.z02 david_a_burdick...a_musical_history.zip > db.zip
zip -F db.zip
unzip db.zip
tried to open these files on a mac just the way it was explained but no go. Anyone else care to give a step-by-step instruction. Would very much like to hear these songs. Thanks for any help.
has anyone been able to open these files? I too have a mac and tried the solution but it didn't go thru. Is anyone else willing to give a step-by-step instruction to opening these file? would be most appreciative. Thanks for the help in advance.
Hello, I was wondering how to open these files on a PC? I tried winrar and winzip but could not open the .Z01 and the .Z02 files. It just tells me it is an invalid archive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Absolutely love your blog!
The rar files were directly given by david burdick - so this is the usual rar files uploaded by myself
i got them and i unpacked only when i get all of the three parts with winrar
I'm not on a Mac and got the rars to extract using WinRar, but one file was corrupt and couldn't be extracted. I was just checking to see if anyone else had this problem.
I was able to snag em! Awesome!!! I got a total of 66 songs. Just digging into em.
david, thanks a lot for this huge amount of songs!
