WILL OWSLEY - R.I.P. (April, 30)
Will Owsley, the Middle Tennessee-based singer, songwriter, engineer and guitarist known professionally as Owsley, died April 30 of an apparent suicide. Former leader of the Semantics, he released two much-acclaimed albums "Owsley" (1999) and "The Hard Way" (2004). He also released this "Coming Up Roses" EP (1999)

Thanks for the EP. The track "Mess With Me" was also the bonus track on the Japanese version of the self titled album, I think. never heard it before now.
Been listening to the Semantics and his 2 solo disks on a fairly heavy rotation here since last night and fuck was he ever talented!
So, what's the password for the EP?

Oh, I can't believe it; this is so sad. I interviewed Will when his second solo CD came out, and he was just the nicest guy. Given that he was a rather religious person, it's particularly tragic since obviously this went against his beliefs. I was just listening to "Good Old Days" this past weekend and musing how it's one of the best songs ever written about growing old. Wish he'd given himself the opportunity to do that too.
I am totally shocked! I was listening to The Semantics this weekend & I had not heard this.
This is as bad as Jim Ellison, Pete Ham & Tom Evans suicides. Another great powerpopper has gone silent.
I still find it hard to believe that it's been almost 30 years since Lennon left us.
I will miss Owsley...damn.

Love his solo work...he will be missed. Does anyone know were to find The Semanyics disc...either to purchase or download..thanks.....
