WAVES - AN ANTHOLOGY OF NEW MUSIC VOL 1 (1979)
Pressed in blue vinyl, "Waves" was the second compilation from the legendary Bomp label. Greg Shaw and Bomp began as a rock magazine in '70 and became an "alternative music industry" in '74, then spread the word of "Power Pop" to the world with singles by the likes of the Flamin' Groovies, 20/20, Shoes or the Poppees. Highlights include Tommy Rock (later known as Tommy Knight), 20/20, The Flashcubes, The Marshalls, The Romantics and Paul Collins.

GOOD one! I remember when this came out, and I bought it, I was in high school and was worried that i'd have acne problems like that guy on the cover of this!! Also possibly the ONLY pop song referencing a Saturday Night Live skit in the late 70's, in "Lets Swing" by the Romantics!!! Jim
Theres also a volume II with the great song Teenage tease by The Toasters.
Got this when it came out too - up in the loft somewheres. Didn't know there was a vol.2 though..

Wow, I remember when these things seemed to be littering 50¢ bins everywhere. Now they're all GONE. Great record... BOMP RULES!!
