SNIPERS
SNIPERS + E.P. LIVE (1983) BIS (1984) ALLIGATOR (1985)
The Snipers were formed at the end of 1979, their recordings have never been reissued until now. The complete Snipers recordings were released in France by New Rose. Antoine Massy-Perier (Tony Truant) was part of the Snipers at the very beginning of the band before joining Les Gloires Locales and then The Dogs. Then they changed their name to Ambulance but New Rose wanted them to be called again the Snipers. The Snipers were featured on various New Rose compilations. Anyone who likes the Dogs or The Calamites will go for the Snipers. "(Je t'attendrai dans le) vide-ordures" [(Waiting For You By) The Garbage Dump] will remain as a one of the greatest song of the era.

The Snipers were a great great band and their version of Alex Chilton's Alligator Man is in my humble opinion, their finest hour ...er 3 minutes. The rest of the Alligator EP kicks ass as well. Luckily have all their recordings purchased at the now closed Midnight Records in NYC. Hopefully your posting brings there wonderful music to many others.
I am usually a little anti French and a little Anti canadian- other than their woman their cultural stuff usually sucks. Stuff like this softens my stance.
...Such comment sucks too !

Anyway, you could get the GPS 7" for consolation.
