YACHTS - S.O.S. SINGLES (1977-1981)
This custom compilation was originally posted a few months ago on another blog and has been a long popular item. I guess you've already guessed who made the compilation and the custom artwork, so now you know why i can post it over here. So, here are the complete Yachts singles releases + the first album freebie (Suffice To Say Live) + three album tracks as a free bonus. Two blog readers (skroff and bo) gave the I.O.U. single released on Radar Records ADA 57 (1980). I would like to thank both of them for their help and work. The custom artwork was based upon the North American first album edition. The Front sleeve is the regular Polydor release. The inside and the tray were customised. Here's the complete list of all the singles.

I have a vague recollection of a song from around 1980 (when I was 10). The refrain was "I - O - U, I - O - U". I have been trying to find it for many years, but with no luck. I'm wondering if it might be this song by the Yachts: "I.O.U. (In The Oddments Drawer)". I gave some of their other tracks a listen, and it definitely sounds like it could be the right band. Is there anyway you could email me a short sample of the song?

Wow - so good to have these songs digitally. "Yachting Types" is pretty much one of the greatest songs ever. I have both Yachts albums on vinyl but am not set up for vinyl rips, so this comp is awesome. It is a shame that the Japanese CD reissue of their debut is OOP.

I've had my own digitized versions but I'll always download great stuff like this because I'm sure these versions are better than mine! BUT were you aware that the U.S. casstte of "Without Radar" has DIFFERENT versions of "I Couldn't Get Along Without You" and "Now I'm Spoken For"? Completely different recordings... much more raw and punky. Wish I still owned it
