ADAM SCHMITT - FROM THE VAULTS (1995)
These recordings of the supposed 3rd Adam Schmitt Reprise album are demos and were never officially released. Some of the songs will be heard for the first time. Singer/songwriter Adam Schmitt first won acclaim in the early '90s when his 1991 debut album, World So Bright, and 1993 follow-up, Illiterature, had critics hailing him as a young pop genius. However, when his label Reprise didn't want to release a third album from him, Schmitt decided to record other artists instead, engineering, producing, and mastering music for Tommy Keene, Hum, Beezus, Robynn Ragland, and others in his home studio. By 1998, Schmitt was ready to concentrate on his own music again, but his perfectionism and production work delayed the release of his third effort until the middle of 2001. That album, Demolition, was issued by Parasol; Schmitt started out as a producer by working with many of the label's artists.AMG

The three Adam Schmitt CD's are still available and can be easily purchased from any record store online, even from Amazon.

thank you for this..ive always been a big fan of adam's but ive never ome across this gem before..can't wait to play it
thank you again...love the new blog...and about the old blog...as a music writer ive met many many musicians down the years and one thing ive noticed on occassion is that some can be a bit over the top paranoid about being as they see it "ripped off" i can only think that a certain type of personality reacts badly to all the years of being stitched up by record companies in their younger days and the echoes of that translate in later years to being overly zealous in protecting their work (and that often goes hand in hand ironically with the truth that nobody much is interested in their work anymore anyway) So keep that in mind if you get anyone else ever over reacting...just delete their stuff and forget about it...from my experience most musicians are very nice and laid back...and cool.....
anyway all the best with this new blog which i think is going to be even better that the old one

Yeah, track 24 seems to not be a part of the archive? Any chance this could be fixed? I hate to mix a Schmitt tune! :)

...also, 15 - Everything Blue seems to end rather suddenly.

I'm maybe the world's biggest Adam fan - so thanks a MILLION for posting this! WSB is my all time favorite album. I'm not sure that these are demos for a third record, maybe some, but they really sound like they were done around the time of his debut. Either way, I'd pay him a TON if I had the means to fully produce many of these tracks. I wish he didn't go MIA. He's not on social media, and his website hasn't changed in like 15 years. Too bad he's such a recluse.

Hi Angelo, many thanks for supplying this incredible “lost” material. I’m absolutely loving it. May I ask how you came to get it? It’s stunning.
