GARY CHARLSON (1978-1981)
Gary Charlson was from Kansas City (self proclaimed pop capitol of the midwest). Gary Charlson and Titan Records (see previous blog post The Titan Sampler which featured an alternate version of Brown Eyes) emerged around 1979. His first single was "Real Life Saver" coupled with "Not The Way It Seems". Later, Gary released a second 45, a cover of Dwight Twilley's "Shark" and then a 12" EP of live recordings in studio (mostly great covers of power pop classics). His original "Burning In You" was also one of the hightlights featured on the Bomp's "Waves Anthology Of New Music Vol.2" (1980). At one time , he was supposed to release a full length LP on Bomp Records but it never saw the light. As Titan mastermind "Mr. POP" was saying REMEMBER KIDS.....IT'S ALL POP!

Thank you so much for this album. I heard "Shark" in a Powerpop recopilation and I was looking for more Gary Charlson's songs.
