SPOONER (1979-1980)
Recorded in Northern Illinois with advice and assistance from Zion's finest Shoes, the band's first record was released in 1979: "Cruel School", a seven inch EP containing four songs written by Doug Erikson. A DIY project all the way, Boat Records was christened to serve their growing local and regional following.
Another single ("Where Are You Gonna Run"/"You're The Lucky One") was followed two albums "Every Corner Dance" (1982), and "Wildest Dreams" (1984) . Source.

Anyone on Facebook (And even those who are not, I believe) can access a Spooner page that has a dozen hard to find songs that can be streamed: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Spooner/55680815711?sk=info Did I say impossible to find? Some are from the EP, or 45's, (and one from a movie soundtrack nobody ever saw) but the rest are either totally unreleased versions or completely new songs. Audacity or Audio Hijack might be able to capture the stream, but they're apparently in the process of making this stuff (and a lot more) available for download. Spread the word.
FYI, I believe that Facebook page (as well as the semi-moribund www.spooner.ws site) is being maintained by the band's former manager, Bob Bartel, and guitarist Dave Benton.
