Hailing from Scotland, Johnny & The Self Abusers released their first and only single the day they had split. I guess everybody knows the names of the two bands they gave birth to after the split: Cuban Heels and. S...(fill the dots). An early member of the Pink Fairies, Larry Wallis became an in-house producer at Stiff Records, was featured on the "A Bunch of Stiffs" compilation, released this amazing single, and took part in the Live Stiffs Tour '78.

thanks very much
i like Dead Vandals, but Police Car is really the winner, and Larry had one of the coolest images ever...
'The Members' did a good cover of that Larry Wallis 'Police Car'
Many thanks for this series. i thought my votes would be evenly spread, but i seem to be voting Stiff most of the time?
Yeah.. I was there(no not IN London), i bought them then and loved them!
And that I do now....too.
One against the other Chiswick came up short... and I still love their releases, too.
OH YES, I LOVE MY LABEL
Yeah! So they became the Simple of Minds.... That doesn't make them top the adversary....

Better than anything the S----- M----- ever did and much as I like Larry Wallis, the Self Abusers win this one. An absolute belter!
