Tommy Hoehn and Van Duren are both veterans of the original power pop movement. Based in Memphis and finding each other to be kindred musical spirits, they banded together in the '90s to make some easygoing adult pop. On "Blue Orange", their second recording together, Hoehn and Duren pursue a blue-eyed soul-tinged path not unlike the one forged by John Hiatt or fellow southerner Don Dixon. Laid-back tempos, lots of thick Hammond organ, twangy guitars, and impassioned vocals are the order of the day from beginning to end.

clever very clever there hiding in plain site!
thanks for this one Angelo.
looking forward to giving this a spin later, I love Van Duren!
would love to hear Tommy's 'Losing You To Sleep' album if you have that one too, it seems to be unavailable anywhere except for $40 on eBay..
Another sad notice this year...
I don't know the password song. It's killin' me. But if I don't know it, I guess I'm not enough of a power pop buff...
Musicians may pass, but good music lasts forever.
Sad that Hoehn passed...this album is great; I especially liked "Renee".
